TABER Abrasion
TABER Rotatory Platform Abraser
Taber Abraser has been used for quality & process control, research & development and material evaluation. Used to test a wide spectrum of materials, the abraser (abrader) has been referenced in numerous standards and specifications and is frequently called a Rotary Platform Dual (Double) Head Tester.
Refacing Wheels
Refacing medium for Taber Rotary Platform Abraser - 4” diameter with 9/32" center hole, 150 grit abrasive paper (100 pc.). Use to reface most Calibrase wheels.
Wheel Refacer 250
The Wheel Refacer is used to precision dress the contact surfaces of Calibrade wheels, and to true out of round wheels or correct ´crowning´ conditions on both Taber Calibrase and Calibrade abrasive wheels.
Taber Rotary Platform Abraser- test Accessories
Taber Offers a selection of specimen plates to assist with the evaluation of coating. Counterweigths are available to expand the testing load. And To tes specimens that are greater than 12mm but less than 40 mm, we offer the arm height extension kit.
Quiet Cabinet
The Quiet Cabinet has been specially designed to reduce sound levels by approximately 20% and provide a convenient, dus-free workspace for your taber Abraser
TABER Linear Abraser, model 5750
The TABER® Linear Abraser (Abrader) - Model 5750 has been engineered to test either contoured or flat surfaces, making it ideal to evaluate finished products of all sizes. To expand the versatility of this instrument, the Linear Abraser can be configured with optional test attachments to perform different types of abrasion tests. And can be used for both wet and dry testing.
Abradants
The standard Wearaser has a diameter of 1/4" and is the size and shape of a pencil eraser.
Multi-Finger Scratch / Mar Tester
The Multi-Finger Scratch / Mar Tester - Model 710 is used to measure the relative resistance or susceptibility of a material surface to scratching, marring, gouging, scraping, engraving and other similar physical damage not classified as ordinary wear. Based on the apparatus described in popular automotive specifications, the instrument is commonly referred to as a five-finger (five-arm) scratch & mar tester and most often used to evaluate plastics.
Reciprocating Abraser - Model 5900
The TABER Reciprocating Abraser - Model 5900 is a test apparatus similar to the instrument described in test method ISO 1518. Ideal for flat surfaces, this tester can be configured with optional attachments to evaluate the relative resistance or susceptibility of a material surface to physical damage. Utilizing scratch styli (sold separately), the Taber Reciprocating Abraser allows you to perform single or multiple pass scratch, marring, gouging, scrape, and other similar physical damage.
Shear / Scratch tester TABER 550 / 551
With the TABER® Shear / Scratch Tester, you can evaluate resistance to shearing, scratching, gouging, marring, scraping and engraving.
Specimen Mounting
Mounting Cards provide a unique way to mount flexible specimens, and include a test report to capture critical data. Mounting sheets allow you to affix specimens directly to a specimen table.
Specimen Holders
The taber Abraser can be used for many different applications. Interchangeable specimen holders provide a suitable fixing device dependent on the material.
Sample Cutter
Sample Cutter for the Taber Rotary Abraser. A heavy-duyt blade cuts a 4.2-inch diameter specimen and the punch creates a precise 1/4 inch center hole.
Wheel loads
Wheel loads normally specified for the Taber Rotary Platform Abraser (Abrader) are 250 grams, 500 grams, or 1000 grams.
Quick Release Wheel / Hub Kit
Permits quick wheel mounting, without the need of a locking nut. An innovative collet makes certain the wheels remain securely fastened until disengaged. Easily installs on most Taber Rotary Platform Abrasers. Kit includes both left & right mounting assemblies.
Scratch (spherical tip)
To measure the relative resistance or susceptibility of a material surface to marring, ouging and other similar physical damage, spherical scratch tips are suggested. Available in a 1.0mm or 7.0mm diameter hemisphere, these tips can be screwed directly into a tapped hole at the bottom of the spline shaft (Model 5750 only).
Scratch-Scrape-Coin Holder
A Coin Holder Attachement can be used for ascrape, rub, mar or adhesion testing. This attachment is inserted into the standard wearaser collet and will increase the test load by 27 grams. A stadard coin can then be inserted into the attacment for test purposes. Three common angle are available including 45º, 60º and 75º.
Crockmeter
The Crockmeter provides a quick and accurate method to determine the amount of color transferred from textile materials (such as fabric, carpeting, yarn and leather) to other surfaces by rubbing. The Crockmeter has also been employed to perform rub abrasion, scuff and / or mar tests on flat specimens.
ScotchBrite Abrasive Pad Kit
Use the Taber Linear Abraser or Reciprocating Abraser to evaluate material resistance to abrasion and damage caused by "scrubbing".
Rub- Univarsal Attachment
The Universal attachment permits "real world" testing by attaching virtually any material to it for testing against the specimen. This attachment is recommended for flat specimens.
Scuffing Head
The Scuffing Head Attachment is used to evlauate the scuff-resistance of materials such as vinyl, painted surfaces, leather, car floor mats, etc.
Multi-Media Attachment
The Multi-Media Attachment can recreate contact surface wear caused by liquids, fluids and powders. Measure the abrasivity of materials including paints, pigments, adhesives, sealants, pastes, additives, etc.
Stiffness Tester - Model 150-B
Stiffness Tester - Model 150-B (110V, 60Hz) - The Model 150-B is a manually operated instrument, which is based on the original Taber V-5 Stiffness Tester. Mounted on telescoping tripod legs, the Model 150-B is lightweight for easy portability. Electronic components are sealed in a rugged housing. The model 150-B requires the user to manually record stiffness testing data, average the readings and multiply results by a scaling factor.
Stiffness Tester - Model 150-E
The TABER® V-5 Stiffness Tester - Model 150-B or 150-E is used to evaluate stiffness and resiliency properties of materials up to 10,000 Taber Stiffness Units. This precision instrument provides accurate test measurement to ±1.0% for specimens 0.004" to 0.219" thickness. Materials include paper products, cardboard, plastics, metals, textiles, rubber, wire, tubing, felts and other sheet materials.
